LABRADOR RETRIEVER BREED INFORMATION

The Labrador Retriever is well-known and loved throughout the world for its intelligence and gentle temperament.  The labrador can be counted on as a loyal friend and companion, and is highly respected for its intelligence that has allowed it to excel at many jobs, the most well-known of these being guide dogs for the blind, search and rescue dogs, and drug detection dogs.

Labradors are obedient, sociable, affectionate, and loyal. They get along well with children, other dogs, and any household pets. Their natural friendliness means that they don't make the best watchdogs as they are more likely to lick an intruder than attack him.

The labrador also loves its food and can be inclined to laziness, so will benefit from long regular walks and will spend as much time as you are willing to give him in retrieving balls or other like objects.

The labrador has a thick, waterproof coat that should be brushed once or twice a week.
