My love for the Papillon started in 1983, leading me to buy my first Papillon in 1986.

After studying and getting to know the breed more, I decided England was the place to get the type of Papillon I liked.

Shamal Kennels in England agreed to allow Shamal Souvenir (Bobby), a lovely black and white boy, to come to Starblaze Kennels. He gained his Australian Championship rapidly, collecting Best in Show at the Victorian Papillon Show and Best of Breed at the Melbourne Royal along the way.

Over the years Bobby's progeny have gone on to become Champions, consistently winning In Group and In Show awards at club shows and Royal shows.

Through time my interest in the Phalene (dropped ear Papillon) increased, leading me to acquire my first male from NSW.

Although not an easy variety to win with Thomas surprised us all by winning Best in Show at the NSW Papillon Championship Show.

In 1998 I imported a lovely typy bitch, Skymningen's Alberta, from Sweden who went on to win In Group and Class In Show awards beating many other Papillons on the way - another coup for the Phalene!

With the help of a friend who has progeny from one of my top winning dogs, Rodney, I am now preparing for Starblaze Kennels puppies to once again make their show debut.
