I can't thank John and Minna enough for sending Fletcher to us. Due to unforseen circumstances, Fletcher was still living with John and Minna at five months old. Even though he was no longer a small puppy, he still had the attitude of a cute little boy. Do not hesitate to take an older puppy, as they have the best training and care possible and just want a family to love.
Fletcher is beautiful, loving and highly intelligent. He loves going for rides in the car (even though he mostly goes to sleep!), playing with his buddy Boomer and dipping his front legs and entire face in buckets of water. He loves life on the farm and learnt surprisingly quickly not to go in the paddocks. He was house trained within a week, with few accidents after. He only ever wants to be with you, to have you pat him and give him lots of love. He sleeps on my bed (he takes up most of the room) and will even nap in the bean bag.
He loves attention, which he often gets from strangers in town. Many people will ask what breed he is and are surprised when you tell them that he is a 7 month old Parti Standard Poodle. Once, someone even took photos of him to send to a poodle fanatic friend!
Fletcher is an amazing dog and my best friend. I can no longer imagine life without his bubbly personality and constant love. You will not regret buying a poodle from John and Minna, even if the puppy is a little older!

Many thanks,
Rumer, Michele and Kenny

Well am I a happy boy!! My name is Louie, and at time of writing I am just over 2 years old. Born on the 28th of June 2009 to proud parents Gilbert and Pye, I was tenderly cared for in my early weeks by Minna and John of Stuartlea, who groomed and prepared me for my new life ahead. Perth, Western Australia was where I was headed, a small acreage in the country where I would have space to run and lots of other dogs to play with. Unfortunately 12 months on, I had to find a new home and with my picture posted on the web and a brief description about myself, I was on the lookout for a new family to share my life with.

It was around this time my new owners to be, who had recently lost to illness their beloved standard poodle Inky, were making enquiries about the prospect of a new canine friend to complete their family life. Well did they pick right! Of course I wanted the usual consult meeting so I could figure out if these people were up to scratch and what can I say, I liked them! I agreed to their offer of love, companionship and constant attention so off I went to my new home. There were to be some rules in my new home (none of which were discussed with me at the initial meeting), including some one-on-one canine training. Being a bit rough around the edges in the discipline area, I buckled down for six months and found once I got the knack of sit, drop, heal, beg, high-five, and come, this command thing was a breeze. I received top of the class honours for being a quick learner and displaying the height of intelligence.

I love the great outdoors. Get this – I’m out having my usual daily walk and the next thing I know I’m a chick magnet!! Women are all over me, even the blokes get in on the act – it’s crazy. I’ll stop and exchange a bit of chit-chat and respond to the usual questions with, “Parti Poodle”, “2 years old”, “yes I am big aren’t I” and “no you don’t see my kind around often”. What can I say, I’m an absolute people stopper!!

12 months on with my new family, I must say I am very fond of them. They treat me like a king. I get first class food and bones to die for, front seat row on the couch at night and endless attention. I get to share my time between city life and a farm where I love to run and swim in the dams. I’m an avid Quad Bike rider and I love gathering sticks when we are having a clean-up around the farm or just gathering them for fun and leaving them all around so we can clean up all over again!! I even get to hang out with the horse.
So impressed with my breeding and the whole “wow factor” going on with me, I recently asked Minna and John to send me a Sister. She came out a funny colour though, “Red” they call her. Anyway they sent me the perfect match, she is 11 weeks old and I am whipping her into shape. I called her Miska and I am doing the whole puppy training thing and showing her the ropes. The days are filled with endless play and I can tell already she is going to be my best mate.

Hey Minna and John, thanks for helping me into this world. Although a bit shaky to start, I have found my feet and subsequently living the Life of Riley!! Whatever sort of establishment you are running there, it must be top-notch, just look at me!!

Woof Woof,
Louie

Oh what an experience and change from country Victoria.

I flew into Darwin in the early hours of a hot and rainy night in October 2010 and was met by my new owners, Diane & Kevin who drove me back to Kununurra in Western Australia to live with them and ‘Buffy’ - 12 year old standard poodle. Kununurra for those who don’t know is in the East Kimberley in the far north of Western Australia near Lake Argyle. It is very hot and humid here in the summer and dry and cooler even cold sometimes overnight in the winter.

I am the only standard poodle in this area and the only Parti for thousands of kilometres. Even though my old friend Buffy didn’t seem to like me much at first, she came to like my company and would play with me when she could. I think I made the last year of her life much happier and less lonely as she had lost her lifelong companion earlier the year I arrived. Now Buffy has gone, I am missing her and feeling a bit lonely but I am looking forward to meeting a new little ‘Red’ companion from Minna and John soon.

I have grown to be a very big boy – which my owners wanted – and I guard the property and let people know there is a good watch dog here. Diane has been giving me training lessons so I am good at ‘sit, ‘stay’ etc. but the ‘come’ needs a bit more work especially when I see other things of interest when I’m out and about – but they know I’m still a puppy albeit a big one.

Diane and Kevin take me on lots of long walks and I love to meet other dogs. As there is no dog club in Kununurra it is not easy to meet well-mannered canine friends regularly. I also love to go paddling at the boat ramp on the big lagoon next to town where I put my head right under the water. It is also good fun putting my mouth over the sprinklers in the park. Chasing the water from the hose at home and playing ball are other good games.

I love my owners so much I would lick them all over if they let me. Diane says I give good feet, knee and lower leg massages, as long as I do them before she has a bath, not after. I am sometimes allowed to sit on the couch and other times I put my front feet up there so I can give good hugs.

I could go on and on but enough about me for now.

Thanks to Minna and John

Best Regards
Diane, Kevin and Roarke
